"It is amazing how much love and laughter they bring into our lives and even how much closer we become with each other because of them." – John Grogan

Edgy Poo

This is my Edgy Pooh who passed over the bridge at 13 1/2 yrs of age on April 5, 2018. He was my fifth Akita adopted since 1994 and must say he was all 4 wrapped in one huge heart dog. He was my heart dog, attached at the hip. We loved the 3 beautiful years we spent together. He was such an exceptional Akita with a wonderful disposition that I decided to make him my Emotional Support dog. He was so amazing with adults, children and traveled to Florida for four months with me, met my mother and took to her immediately.

He was originally Grand Slam Champion Close to the Edge from Larry Kaplan. When Larry suddenly passed away, I was called from Nancy Lamm and BEAR to come look at this boy. I had just lost my other two, Sammy and Sashi, just 3 months prior and was ready for another. Edgy and I chose each other. We needed each so much.

I miss my boy everyday and still cry when I hear songs that remind me of him or come across anything that would remind me of him. This was a most devastating loss as we only had each other. My heart still hurts and always will because you just never ever forget the love of a special heart dog Akita. Miss you my Edgy Pooh!

2004-2013 There are dogs who come into your life and you know they are special. Joji was one. She was a gentle giant, ready to share an Akita woo greeting with all her human friends. She was sweet and loving. Everything one would want in a companion. She was taken from this earth too soon, a lymphoma victim. I miss you every day, Josephine-butter-bean.
Oni wasn't an Akita but he spent his whole life around them. He had the heart of lion and, yet, he was silly, funny, opinionated, and, tenacious. He was a quirky little guy who let us in his world and my world was forever changed. He was one of a kind. I will always miss my little, little Oni. 2002-2013
